The Story Behind Mandalika:

It all started when we moved out to this beautiful village. We loved the forests, cherished the old impression of the roads, stairs and small shops and appreciated the calmness that was only disturbed by the river's, bird’s, frog’s and cicadas singing. As soon as the spring arrived, my sister and me would go for hikes in the beautiful nature, listening to our favorite music and completely forgetting about the world. We discovered where the mysterious old grassy stairs lead to, followed the river and walked into isles where only animal’s feet can trace. During these hike trips, we discovered Mandalika, a space in Dlaibe but away from the village so that we started calling it our island of mandalas where we found peace and ran away from our daily life stress and chaos. We escaped our life mess and harsh circumstances at that time in this land. We built our shelter gradually starting from a fireplace, tent and sleeping bags, adding up what made the setup even more chill and satisfying. We searched for thrown-away stuff, upcycling whatever our eyes spotted. We spent days and nights coloring, fixing and building up our valuable findings. We were inspired by nature's geometrical and mandala-like shapes. Every junk was turned into a masterpiece. With time, we thought of making this imaginary haven available to our friends and their friends and eventually to the public, hope you love the place!
